Statement of Appreciation from Ms. Buyelwa Sonjica, Chairperson of Aurelian Beneficial Trust (ABT)

On behalf of the Aurelian Beneficial Trust (ABT), I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Barloworld Trust for their generous support and unwavering commitment to the development of the Fort Cox Agriculture and Forestry Training Institute’s engineering workshop facilities.

Your substantial pledge has been instrumental in advancing the capabilities of Fort Cox’s Agricultural Engineering program. The first phase of procurement and delivery was completed in May 2024.This partnership has enabled the procurement of essential machinery and equipment, ensuring that our students have access to state-of-the-art facilities crucial for their practical training and professional growth.

This initiative not only supports Fort Cox’s goal of achieving accreditation from the Engineering Council of South Africa but also significantly enhances the quality of education and training provided. With 472 students currently enrolled in the Higher Education Band (HET) and an annual training of approximately 150 farmers and extension officers, the impact of this investment is far-reaching. The upgraded facilities will empower students with hands-on experience and the skills necessary to excel in the agricultural engineering field.

We are excited about the future prospects this project brings, and we look forward to the official handover event, which will mark a significant milestone in our collaborative efforts. The dedication and support from Barloworld Trust underscore the power of strategic partnerships in driving growth and innovation in key sectors of our economy.

Thank you once again for your invaluable contribution to building the future leaders of South Africa.

Sincerely,

Ms. Buyelwa Sonjica
